Try this if your baby hates tummy time
Tummy time can be a daunting part of the day for many parents. If your baby hates tummy time or seems uncomfortable, you’re not alone. Luckily, there are ways to make this important activity more enjoyable for your little one. Here is my number one tip to get your baby to like tummy time.

Incorporate Yourself into Tummy Time
Believe it or not, you are your baby’s favorite person and their favorite spot. So, why not incorporate yourself into tummy time? It can make the experience so much better for both of you. Here’s what I mean:
The Chair Method
Feed and Content: First, ensure that your baby is content and happy, usually done right after a feeding. A satisfied baby is more likely to be cooperative.
Recline Position: Recline in your chair so that you’re angled comfortably.
Position the Baby: Lower your baby onto your chest, placing them lower on your body so that they can look up at you. You don’t want them too high up; support them underneath their trunk for stability.
Engage with Your Baby: Talk to them. Your baby will be interested in your voice and your face. This interaction can make tummy time far more enjoyable for them.
Duration and Frequency
In this reclining position, your baby will likely tolerate tummy time for three to five minutes, which is significantly better than struggling on the floor. Aim to incorporate this method two to three times a day for three to five minutes each session. This way, it won’t feel like a daunting task for either of you.
The Benefits
By making tummy time a more pleasant experience, your baby will gradually get better at it. Eventually, they will be more comfortable doing tummy time on the floor. This progression is crucial for strengthening their neck muscles and overall development. Additionally, easier tummy time can facilitate better feeding and developmental milestones.
Keep It Easy on Yourself
It’s important to remember that starting with an easy method benefits both you and your baby. If you have questions about this, feel free to leave them in the comments. Happy tummy timing!
